Check Your Boobies' mission is to have every woman know her breasts. We created this non-profit organization to educate women about breast health in a frank, fun, and fear-free manner. We are dedicated to the prevention and early detection of Breast Cancer.

In the past few years we have witnessed heightened Breast Cancer awareness. But awareness hasn't led to action. When asked, 8 out of 10 women said they don't perform breast self-exams regularly. They don't know how to check their boobies properly. They are not in tune with normal monthly changes in their breasts. They are afraid. They are scared they might actually find something, so they just don't do it.

According to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, women must check their breasts frequently enough to note changes in them. Checking them at the same time every month gives you a baseline from which you can confidently note significant changes in your breast tissue and address them with your doctor as early as possible. Breast self-exams are important for younger women under 40 since mammograms are not widely available for that age group and they may not be accurate due to the density of their breasts.

Check Your Boobies hopes to change the way breast health information is delivered. Breast health education needs to happen more than once a year in a doctor's office. The goal of Check Your Boobies, Inc., is to see your breasts as breasts only. Know your body. Know your breasts. Demystify the breast so that we are not afraid or embarrassed to touch them and talk about them, and take action if we need to.

Through Check Your Boobies Parties we will provide women with a fun, engaging and non-threatening way to learn about breast health. While in the company of girlfriends at a gathering, be it a book club, Tupperware party, purse party, or religious gathering, we will come with a breast health professional. Breast health education will include information on diet and exercise and their respective roles in breast cancer prevention. We will teach women how to do breast exams properly. In a familiar, comfortable environment, with your girlfriends, we will give you all the information you need to become familiar with your breasts and teach you to check your boobies frequently enough so that you can note any changes. The most important thing is for every woman to be familiar with her breasts and note any changes that are significant.

FACT: Based on the American Cancer Society, 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. And early detection makes a HUGE difference in survival. According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, up to 97% of women diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will survive 5 years after diagnosis. Increasing numbers of young women are being diagnosed at an earlier age. It is vital that every woman be familiar with her breasts.
